Privacy and data use

I'm Willis Wee. This page explains what happens to information when you visit my site, send me a note, subscribe, or use one of my experiments.

When you send me a note

The coaching form sends your name, email address, message, and optional session budget to Formspree, which delivers the note to my inbox. I use it to understand your situation, reply, assess whether I can help, and arrange a session if we agree to one. Share only the detail you need to start that conversation.

If the inline form cannot confirm delivery, you can choose to finish sending on Formspree. That sends the same form fields to Formspree.

Visits and AI referrals

I use Umami to understand visits and actions such as opening the coaching page, starting a note, or clicking Intro. My event code sends action names without attaching your name, email, message, or budget. The Umami configuration excludes query strings and fragments from the visited page URL and respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. Umami's tracker settings explain those controls.

I also use Inflect to investigate visits associated with AI tools. When its detection criteria match, its script can send the full page URL, referrer, query or prompt present in a URL, browser and language information, page text snippets, and a session identifier. It uses session storage. A separate tracking pixel also makes a request to Inflect and can send the page path and query in the referrer.

If Inflect enables its optional attribution feature, it can also use a visitor identifier in session storage. Its longer-lived cookie requires a consent signal. Umami's Do Not Track setting does not turn off Inflect or the other external requests described here. Referral observations do not establish that someone booked a session.

Subscriptions and bookings

The newsletter form is supplied by Substack. It connects to Substack as you scroll near it, before you submit an email address. You can also use the separate Substack signup link.

Intro's policy covers its booking, payment, and recording practices. Intro is optional. You can send me a note and arrange a session separately. We can discuss recording and any other session concerns before booking.

Other requests and browser storage

GitHub Pages hosts this site, and Cloudflare sits in front of it. These services receive network information, including your IP address, to handle requests. Main pages also request fonts from Google.

Some experiments save information in your browser: Chix Run saves scores and tutorial progress, the floor-plan demo saves comments, and Orbit saves discovery progress and cached feeds. Orbit also requests orbital and earthquake data directly from CelesTrak and USGS. Clearing this site's browser storage removes locally saved progress, comments, and session identifiers. You can block external requests with browser tools, although some parts of the site may stop working.

Your records and questions

Submitted notes can remain in Formspree and my inbox. Providers may also retain records under their own policies. Clearing browser storage does not remove those records.

To ask about your information or request a correction or deletion, send me a note or reply to an email from me. I can review the request with you. Removal from provider records and backups may take a separate process.
